How do I set up a proxy thru VPN

I am new here and dont really know much, but like to learn how to set up a proxy for internet access using a VPN. Is it possible? would the browsing be encrypted?, any information would be greatly appreaciated

My guess is you're talking about an SSL VPN application/appliance which can provide web surfing capabilities once you're authenticated?

If this is what you mean ... you'd be encrypted from your PC to the endpoint of the SSL tunnel, but the actual surfing of the web would be unencrpted from the SSL VPN endpoint out on the internet.
