I need to set a Cisco 2501 back to factory defaults and don't know how. I have checked their web site but can't find anything to instruct me on this process.

You can do a:
Router# erase startup-config
that'll erase the startup config (obviously) and force the setup at restart. There may be one other thing, can't remember.

I don't know the pasword for then router and it's not setup for SNMP access to tftp anything to it.

Bud-

Use the Cisco password recovery to get into the router. ONce you have do that, you can either erase the flash or use the command "setup" which will take you through the reconfiguration of the router.

Use the following link for detail instructions on recovery
