How do I secure Linksys Gaming adapter

I recently purchased a Linksys 802.11b gaming adapter for my son's xbox. To my dismay, it doesn't support WPA, only WEP. My understanding is that WEP is easily cracked. My wireless router is a Linksys WRT54G which of course supports WPA.

Is there any way of making my gaming connection more secure barring just replacing it?
