Hi All,

I wonder if someone might be able to shed some light on this issue.

We have a Websphere (5.1) Cluster setup and deploy our applications into this cluster via the Deployment Manager.
This installs the applications on both our servers in the cluster.
However now we have a need to run one application on one server only. How do I install the application so it's only ever run from "server1" in our cluster??

I've searched the documentation on Server Affinity but was not able to figure out a concrete way to configure the Application Server.

Any suggestions where to find information would be much appreciated

Mike

hi,

you can try this..go to plugin-cfg.xml of ur webserver n try changing it manually. you will find every application mapping to the corrosponding appservers. you can change the hostname and make it work. Dont forget to save the changes to master configuration...hope this will work :D

If I change the plugin.xml file, its only the IHS(HTTP) server that determines where to send the request for an application - right?

However is this also true if I have long running BPE (Business Process Container)applications?

I have noticed that these applications, containing a number of steps, switch servers "in flight".

thanks
Mike.
