Hi,
I wanted to remove some users access to DBACCESS?
How should i go about it?

Thanks in advance
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep.
If you're on Unix you should take the rights via the groups from them. change the file-permission of dbaccess to informix:informix r-xr-x--- and take away the group informix from all users who should not connect to dbaccess

Hi,
Thanks for reply,
I am using HP-UNIX, and Informix 7.X.
do u mean dbaccess file permissions i have to change but
in that case i have to copy this dbaccess file to required
users login dir.
I didn't get this group changing, can u please explain with
example?
or any other solution to do this? Also i need to give permission to some users to access dbaccess but only select permission not update, delete.

Thanks
Sandeep

Hello

1) cd to $INFORMIXDIR/bin
2) chmod 550 dbaccess

This will remove the permission from users who don't belong to the informix group. Then they won't be able to access dbaccess

Cheers
