How do I restore from an old tape

Hi,
I'm trying to extract data from an old job. I knew the tapes that have the data so I loaded them into the tape library manually (We have a MSL6000 tape library).

In CV, from the Backup History of the subclient, I selected the job and then selected Browse to find the files I wanted. CV wants to restore the index from the tape.

But it still thinks the tape is outside the Library. Even though I can see the tape one of the slots.
The message says:
The required media [] for job [] is not in the library. Please use this products import functionality to import the media from the location [] container [Dummy] into the Library [].

If the right click on the library in Commcell Console and select 'Import Media'. A message says to insert media into mail slot. But my media is already inside the library ?

Also if I right click on the media I want and select 'recall media' I get the message that I need Vaulttracker license before I can do this.

Also I can't export this particular tape media as that option is greyed out when I right click on it.

How would I go about this, to get Commcell to recognise that the tape media required for the restore job is already in the library ?

Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Hi

1) What version are you on + SP level?

2) Have you tried running an inventory on the library?

3) Have you got the 'Use Exact Index' ticked...this should be ticked or else you may find that it is trying to restore the 'last in cycle' which will probably be on a different tape

thanks birky,

1. Commvault version 7 SP4a

2. Haven't tried inventory on the Library. how would I do that?

3. It wasn't checked, but I have checked 'Use Exact Index'.
It still requires that tape to be loaded into the Library. But the two tapes for this job are in the Library. Just that they are still listed as being in their export locations.
still scratching my head...

right click the library and select 'full scan'
