How do I resize partitions?

I'm running out of room on some of my RedHat 7.1 partitions. I've looked at fdisk and cfdisk and these tools are not very user-friendly. I tried to resize partitions a year ago using cfdisk and ended up completely destroying the filesystem and having to re-install the system from scratch. There must be an eaiser way!

Can anybody walk me through the process of resizing a partition on my Linux server?

Hi,

There is a gnome gui with the unlikely name of partition surprise that claims to do ext2 resizing - hope the name is the only 'surprise' !
