I print booklet format with my newly acquired 8200dp.
It wastes a lot of paper. I can't get the top and bottom margin under 1 inch. How do I correct this problem?
I have down loaded updates for the install disc that I have. That did not work.
I rebooted to default that did no good.
This is my primary printer it is not on a network. I removed all of the network applications. It does not have the harddrive.
This is an awsome printer. I need it to do what I want it to do. Not what it does.
Thanks for any HELP!!

What software are you using to create the booklet?

What size are the pages?

I format the booklet using Microsoft Word 6. I have the page setup as follows. .5 on all four sides for a margin. The single page normal print option is selected at thgis point.

When I send it to the printer I use the printer preference.
Fold on long side with booklet selected as page count.

thanks again for the help.

I am using Word 2003. When I set my margins in Word (and other programs), I find that the settings that I use for my printers will normally override the Word settings.

So I would think your manipulating the printer prefs should work. Will the same thing happen if you set the document as a single page, non-booklet format? The booklet setting may increase your margin requirements. Custom settings outside of regular old letter size sometimes do that. Although .5 inches on all sides should still work. I'll dig a bit in Word and get back.

In fact, on my xerox 8400, for a letter size I can have a 1/4" margin. Any other custom size setting increases this to 1/2". Still too big, but not 1"! I'll see what I can find.

Just to be sure, did you reset your left and right indents? Even with your margins set, you would need to adjust both of these to the .5 and 8.0 marks on your document ruler.
