I installed win2000 advanced server and now am told we're not using it.
How don't know how to wipe the hard drives.
We want to start from scratch and re-install win98.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

Find and download a program called Delpart.exe. Put it on a DOS bootable floppy, and use it to delete the NTFS partitions. Then use format.exe like this: format /mbr and you are now ready to install Windows98. You can find Delpart on in the 'Partitioning' area.

Howdy,

Actually you can use fdisk to remove any NTFS partitions and create new FAT16 or FAT32 paritions. Fdisk is on the Win98 boot floppy. I think Win98 gives you the option to format during install; if not format is on the install CD in the win98 folder.

I've been doing a lot of Win2k/98 installs and re-installs lately and haven't had to use fdisk /mbr.

HTH
