Hello People,

Here is the new problem that I am getting. When I deploy the Agent into Win9x clients login scripts the agent communicates with the server fine and then pulls down the AV software. All ok so far. The problem occurs when the user restarts the PC and then AV 4.5.1 tries to do a boot scan and this cuases the PC's to hang for at least and hour and half!! Then the PC starts fine. I know I could rem out the command in the autoexec.bat but that would mean paying a visit to alot of PC's. We have also tried creating a standard autoexec.bat to try and overwrite the one with VirusScan command but this works on some PC's but not others.

This is becoming very annoying and causing a few headaches, Please help!!!!!!

to prevent the installation package to add the autoexec.bat line to scan at startup, install using the switch

SCANATSTARTUP=False

for example :
Setup.exe SCANATSTARTUP=False /q /i

When you say about the setup.exe - do you mean the Setup for the AntiVirus software. If you are, I am deploying the agent through the login script and then the ePO server is sending the AV software, so I am not using the login script for VirusScan 4.5.1. I am only using the login scripts for the deployment of the ePO agent. Could I incorporate the above switch into the login script seeing as I am just automating the agent from the login scripts.

Hope that makes sense - Any help greatly appreciated.

in the deployment task in the ePO, add the switch/es to the installation of virusscan (the button on the right, that labels "...") and that´s it

You area star - Many thanks for your advice I will give this fix a good damn testing now!!!!

I have raised this issue with Network Associates countless times and they told me that there is nothing that can be done at all. At least someone out there knows what they are talking about.

Many thanks again.
