I have a report that has two groups in it. I'm trying to get a report that will only print the total for a curency field for each group. The problem that I have is that if a group only has one record in it, they print one group after the other. If there is more than one record, blank lines are inserted for each record. How do I remove the blank lines and tighten up the report? see example

ACCOUNT 732

Location Avis $100.50
Ford $300.00

Nissan $650.00

Heartz $700.00
Alamo $450.00

ACCOUNT & Location are my groups and as of now I'm performing sums from within the Location header. I also need a runing sum for each ACCOUNT group. When I try to place this in the ACCOUNT footer it gives me 0.00 for each page and a value at the end of the report that only reflects the last record. Any help will be great.
thanx,

I'm not clear on how your controls are placed, but I think perhaps you have an empty Detail section, since you're only printing totals. If your Detail section is empty, but printing, it will appear as a blank line. You can do one of two things to make it stop:
1. Set its Height property to 0 (or, equivalently, drag the header bar of the first footer section up to the Detail section's header bar)
2. Set its Visible property to No

I assume you meant you're performing sums in the Location group footer, not header. The Account running sum should work the same way, using "=Sum([field])" in the Account group footer. What do you have in the Control Source? Are you sure you haven't put it in the page footer? Rick Sprague
