How do I remove an extension?

Our system is a Merlin Legend. I am trying to renumber extension 7121 to 6406. the system won't let me. Upon further investigation it seems we have a x6406 but it is not in use. how can I delete this x6406 thru winspm?

First renumber it to something else, then that number will be available.

Thanks. That did it but isn't there a way to just delete an extension?

No. EVERY port has an extension, and is available for use.
