How do I release an IP address from Linksys WPC11 Wireless laptop pcmcia network card. I have tried to use ipconfig /release and the ip address remains. Then I try to renew and I get an error stating that it could not connect with dhcp server (which is my d-link wireless router). Is there a third party software out there that can remove the ip address and allow it to finally get one from the router and allow the laptop to see my network? Thanks

You can try just unplugging it, that's one way, or go to "see my connections" and right click to the following connection device and then click "disabled" then do the same proccess and "enable" it again. Do you have service pack 2 installed on your laptop? Are you getting a valid IP address within the network but just not receiving packets? An option may be to assign a static DHCP server which is the router unless you have your own DHCP server set up.

You have all the symptoms of a corrupt Winsock service stack.
