Hey all, I purchased a ProCurve 2610 switch, got it all configured, and it's working great. HOWEVER, every time I telnet into the switch I get this message:

Please register your products now at:
I then hit ENTER and login. When I'm telnetting into the switch it's a minor annoyance, but when I try to use my Solarwinds software to login to that switch the "annoyance" prevents me from logging in successfully. SO, how do I "register" my switch so that error message goes away?

Thanks,

Joe B

Strange I get the register info but also prompted for username.

you could try logging into the web interface on your 2610 and you will get a registration window. check the box off for dont remind me or something like that.

I posted this question on my HP forum and received a response stating that I would have to use a script with a Carriage Return in it in order to get past the window. Sounds like the login is a little different between our switches.

Thanks,

Joe B

Bummer. I was hoping to automate access to my switches but I guess that's not going to happen. Oh well, at least I can still do it the old fashioned way.

Thanks,

Joe B
