Hi,
I am running IP Office 403.
I have created a Shortcode "172" which dials a number, let's say, 1-999-999-9999. This one works fine.
Now I need to refer to this Shortcode from another Shortcode.
I have created a Shortcode "*333" and put "172" as Telephone Number. I have tried it with quotes, without quotes, even tried "#Shortcode.172" and "#Shortcodes.172" Nothing worked.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Vladimir Mikhelson

What feature did you select? Try it with DialExtension instead of Dial.

Out of curiousity, why are you trying to do this?

Hi Morrack,
Thank you very much for the prompt response. It worked like a charm. I used "Dial" as a feature and it was a problem.
Now let me answer your question.
Everything started with the directory. I wanted to have a directory with both lookup and speed dial capability. Since directory does not provide speed dial functionality I ended up with creating shortcodes for my speed dial list and refered directory to shortcodes. BTW, some of these speed dial numbers use "," and "#" and as it was determined by trial and error commas can only be used in shortcodes to create a pause in a dialing sequence.
Then I started setting up message notification. First thing I found out was that the functionality was very poorly implemented in IP Office altogether. It only allowed me to call a user once per voice mail left. Some users happen to use pagers, so I needed to create shortcodes to call their pagers and then refer them with the prfix "P" in the User's Source Numbers.
Some of the numbers used for notification happen to be already defined in the directory. That's how I needed to refer them.
I hope that answers you question.
Thank you again,
Vladimir Mikhelson

Did you find a way to page more than once when a voicemail is left??

Unfortunately not. Somebody told me that the feature is coming in the new release.
