The M: drive on our Metaframe server is almost full. The main problem we have is that employee turnover causes us to have a lot of disabled accounts taking up space in the Profiles folder. Is it safe to just delete the contents of these folders?

Also, is there a tool that can show which folders are taking up the most space? I tried using the built-in NT find but it seems to only return files over a certain size, not folders.

Thanks

If your user no longer exists than you can delete the whole profile folder belonging to that user without any problems. There's a couple of FAQs on the subject of profiles by CitrixEngineer on this forum that you should check out. If you use roaming profiles and locate them on a seperate server than you would be able to wipe out all the user profiles from your MF servers on a regular bases (do not delete 'All Users' and 'Default User'). -- Devil Dog --

As DevilDog rightly says, you can clear profiles from the local profiles folder safely.

It's a good idea to trim down profiles by pointing file locations out of them to a separate file server. IMO, profiles should never exceed 1.5 Mb. Any larger, and there will be noticeable latency during login.

You can do this either using policies (preferred), or by hacking the registry (not preferred).

If you need any more info on trimming down profiles, please post back.

I hope this helps
