How do I rebuild the ArcServe 2000 database?

For three weeks now, our database cannot be merged,neither
tapes nor session.
We´ve tried:
- stopping and restarting DB engine
- re-installing the SW
- deleting old database and tried to merge the tapes

Nothing worked.
We cannot reboot the servers in production.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried running the DB Pruner that comes with ARCserve? I had similare problem and that was thier advise and it worked great. Now, anytime I had DB problems its a quick reboot and a running of the DB Pruner. To start it you go into the arcserve program group and run the arcserve server admin and then click n the database tab. It will tell you if it is running or not. then you can stop and start it with admin/configuration from the menu bar. Give that a shot and see if it works.

Hi we prune our database every night...
so this doesn´t help...

Try initialising the database.

Going into server admin, click on the database engine, then go to the scroll down menu from the top and select initialise.
