How do I put my own logo in the address box?

I see that nearly everyone puts their own little logo in place of the default bookmark in the browser address box (the page I am writing this on has a purple 5 point star).

How do they do that?
I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

You need to create an ICON file called "favicon.ico". Simply upload it into the root directory of your web server, and you're sorted. By default the browser will use it when a user either bookmarks your website via the Favourites menu, or creates a shortcut to your website on the toolbar.
