We want to take the video of our church sermon and stream it on the web. What is the best format to convert it to (avi, qt, mpeg)? What software do I use to convert it?

Thanks in advance.

It's your personal preference at the end of the day. I'd probably use MPEG4 QuickTime but that's just because I like QuickTime. You can use any format you mentioned plus RealMedia, WindowsMedia, FLV, etc.

It also depends on if you're talking about "Streaming" or "progressive download", if you're on PC or Mac, and if you want to spend money on tools or looking for a free solution.

I don't mind spending a little cash on a program that will convert it to wmv. It will be a streaming thing. Do you know of a software we can purchase that will convert it?
