Hello Everyone,
I have CR10, CE 10 Express and VB6. I develop on my desktop (windows XP professional), but rent space on a remote server for my web site. Other than copy files into my subfolder, I cannot install any software on the server.

Is there anyway to publish the Crystal Reports I've created to the remote server? Can someone point me to some documentation?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
CE is Web Server based so, if you cannot install its components on your available server, you are probably out of luck..

You might try some site that will let you install stuff.

Sure, if by "publish" you mean to output scheduled versions of the report to this server, such as a PDF or Excel or as the basic RPT (if RPT they'd need a viewer though).

You can FTP reports as a destination in CE, so you could send them to your folder.

Since Crystal Reports is a proprietary format, and requires specific software in order to view them, users will not be able to use the reports unless they have a Crystal viewer, but there are 3rd party viewers if you need one of those:

Thank you TurkBear and Ken. I want "real-time" viewing of the report. So then is the only way to publish Crystal Reports w/out Enterprise through Visual Studio .Net?

You keep using the term publish which confuses things.

Since the server won't have CE, you can't publish anything there to a CE server, I think that you mean that you want to copy RPT files there for viewing.

Note that there is a Crystal offline viewer available with CE 10 (windows based machines only), not sure if it's included with the Express version. Users could then install the viewer, then when they clicked on one of you RPT files it would invoke the viewer.
