How do I publish only the contents on the stage

I am loading a mc into another mc. The mc that is being loaded contains some pictures that are larger than the stage size. I am moving these around to create a motion effect. When I go to publish this mc and load it into the other mc I only want to see the stage. I am having trouble figuring out how to show only the contents that are on the stage and not the overlap.

Are you checking the outputed .swf on it's own?
When not testing in the application itself, you should see but what's on stage. Regards,
