I want to install the latest bind for my AIX box.
I managed to download and install BIND 9.2.0.0 on AIX from

Everything seems fine, but "lssrc -s named" says it is not operating even when a ps -ef |grep named shows that it is running.
Is there a proper way to get BIND 9.2 running under AIX?

I'm running "bos.net.tcp.server - 4.3.3.78" and named8 seems to be "named 8.2.2-P5+Fix_for_CERT_till_01_30_01" according to the banner in syslog.
recommends to run the latest 8.3.1 but I can't seem to find the AIX package with that version.

Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

Sorry people.. I think I should clarify.
The install of the bind 9.2 package for AIX does "work". However, the problem is that "lssrc -s named" returns that "named" is inoperative even though ps -ef shows that "named" is running" and answers queries.

Any suggetions greatly appreciated.
