Hi,

I am new to Call Manager 6 and I am trying to add a sidecard on a 7965 phone. I have added it to the device profile but not sure where to program the buttons. I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

it depends on how you have the phone button template set up for that phone + the side console;
(Device Tab -> Device Settings -> Phone Button Template)

are they lines?
you add the lines like you would any other line on a phone

are they speed dials?
use the add/update speed dials link in the top right hand corner

Dallas BPF,
The phone will be set up as a secretary's phone for 5 Bosses. The phone will have appearances of the other phones extensions.
When you say add the lines do you mean add a new DN ?

yes, he means lines.

a line will let a person see if another person is on the phone.

a speeddial is just that, but can also be used as a transfer key.

I have been using the newer 7915 modules which let you have 24 combinations of either.

Hope this helps.

Hey Guys,

I have a 7916 programmed with lines but the Add on module won't come up. It just stays with the Cisco logo on it.

Thanks

make sure you have the firmware loaded on the server.

Hope this helps.

also, did you add the power cube to it? the phones won't push power to the device, you need the power cable. part number;

Thank you guys for all your responses. I finally got it working, we nedded the firmware loaded.

Hi,

I don't know what I am missing on adding a sidecard. When I got the first one working, I remember when I add the module to the device profile a phone button template was automatically added to the phone button template list. This time I added the module to the device profile but I don't see a phone button template added to the list.
Please help.
