How do I personalize Damn Small Linux

Hello, I am using Damn Small Linux which is Debian/Knoppix based. After bootup right before the modules load, a picture of TUX appears, as well as an ASCII message. I would like to change both these features to suit my tastes. Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps a more appropriate forum would be the Damn Small Linux one? Other than that, I don't know anything about the issue.

There is no Damn Small Linux forum at Tek-Tips.
But since DSL has been a topic in this forum, someone here may know how to help.
