Hi,
I have created a main report with multiple crosstab sub reports. I need to pass the same date range entered on the main report to all of the crosstab sub reports. I'm sure this is possible but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Harla

You can't pass a date range. You'll need to create formulas for the start date and end date of the range and pass both of those formulas to the subreports.

Actually, assuming the date range you need to pass from the main report to the sub-reports is a date range parameter for the main report, you can pass it to each of the sub-reports. Create the range parameter in each of the sub reports, and link them from the Date Range parameter in the main report.

Hi Pete,

I do have a daterange parameter in each of the sub reports, how do I link them from the Date Range parameter in the main report?

Thanks!

Hi Pete,

I was able to link the sub reports to the main report using the parameter field, but it doesn't seem to be passing the date range.

I'm using a date range for Date Opened, but when it passes it to the sub report, it is not passing the range. It may only be passing the first date entered. My example is, if I use the date range of 1/1/2013 - 1/31/2013, the total for all cases in the first report is 1974, the total in the sub report that breaks them down by type is 33 and it's also 33 in the second breakdown sub report. The breakdown report should each total the 1974 of the main report.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

When you link the sub-reports CR will default to a new parameter in the sub-report (its name will start with "?Pm-?").

If you had already created parameters in the sub-reports, make sure that the existing parameter is selected in the sub-report parameter link box, and that the parameter was set to "Range" when it was set up.

If you had not already created the sub-report parameter and want to use the one CR creates for you, you will need to go in and change its properties manually to allow for the Range.

Hope this helps
Pete
