I want to use an icon, (or picture) at the bottom of my pdf, instead of typing words, to use as my link. I cannot find out if this is possible or not. I have several thumbnails in this pdf file and each one I am linking back to the first page, which is my contents page. The contents page also links to each of the other thumbnails.
Can these graphics only be done from the word document before it is saved as a pdf or is it possible to cut and paste a picture or icon after the pdf is created?
I can now successfully keep my link from printing on my pdf and it does still show on the screen. Samaba pointed me in the right direction and I figured it out from there.

It has to be done in the original app - like Word.

Using OSX 10.3.8 on a G4

You can insert it as a button, actually. The button tool is on the advanced editing toolbar. Use it to insert a button, then double click on the button to go to it's properties, and set the icon on options tab in the button properties window. Once caveat, you'll need to have the picture saved so that you can browse to it and select it as an individual object.
