Hi!
I'm new to the forum, and am needing help for opening ports 4662/TCP and 4672/UDP. I can do that under WinXP but can't find the way under W98SE. Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot.
Germamicus.

Ports are only opened if a service/program is listening on them, these should only be blocked if you have a firewall running or your ISP is blocking these ports.

As thedaver says, Win98SE does not have a firewall itself.

What type of software are you trying to use to connect/establish a connection; do you have any problems pinging to and from the win98 machine?

Please give us as much information as possible, it makes a big difference to the responces you will get.

Russell.

Should be open under Win9x, I believe your mind is stil set around what you would have to do if ICF is active under XP.

I am going to make a wild guess that your are getting a low id message from an eDonkey type server.

. Use earlier clients than eMule .30x with Win9x
. If you pass this port test, your eMule or other results are likely wrong:
You will have issues with the eDonkey Hybrid, eMule client, or other clients to the eDonkey Network under Win9x. You did not specify your client, but using an older version of eMule might be a good idea.
