How do I move all mail from one inbox to another?

One person has left our organisation and his boss wants all his email (1000+ messages) sent to his inbox.

Can this be done with Calendar data too?

Help please.

Many Thanks

With that many messages, the easiest thing would be to give his boss access to the mailbox via the ACL. That will give him access to all the messages and calendar without cluttering up his own mailbox.

I did this in the first instance but I need to remove the old account fro the system whilst keeping the data.

I really do need to move the data.

Create a local copy of the users mailfile on your boss' PC and then you can go ahead and delete the server copy and account. Be sure to add him to the ACL though. Lamaar75@hotmail.com

Thanks, done that.

He has sorted out what he wants to keep (about 400 items)
and wants them in his inbox.

Do I need to forward them all individually?

Ah-yep. Although you can create an agent that will do them all at once. Set fo rmanual use from action bar, Act on all documents in database, simple action send mail message, include copy of document.

All documents should grab the calender entries, but I'm not sure how they'll act in the bosses calender.

Why don't you just copy and paste them in? Lamaar75@hotmail.com

You could copy and paste, but I personally don't do that very often between different databases because of the Unique DocID. Personal quirk, I guess

Thanks again for your time in helping me with this.

I tried a "copy to database" command in the agent which was great for everything except for the inbox. I guess that the mail data is in the database, but just not viewed under the selection criteria for the new users inbox. Know what I mean? The original owners name is on the mail but will not be viewed in the new persons name to where it was copied because of the views criteria. If I click on "All Messages" the mail data is there.

Then I tried your solution with the "send mail message" but
that just loses all of the subject and senders details.

Any more ideas guys?

You can use the agent but change it from simple action to the @Mailsend function and include the fields that you want from the original message. Or use the 'more' button on the 'send mail message' and select for subject a formula that gets the original message subject and author.

Subject & " From: " & Sender
