How do I modify the Office Jet G85 to print to router port?

I have a Gateway Solo Notebook w/Win 98 SE and 64MB RAM. I had a G85 installed to print to the SMC100 (SMC7004ABR) Barricade PRT Port, then had a mini-crash. I reinstalled the G85 as a local printer; printing was normal. I set the printer to the router and tried to install the Barricade PTR Port to add a SMC100 port (Barricade PTR Port), but cannot get this new port added. Any suggestions?
