This may be a dumb question, but an outside line xxx-0333 right now rings at ex-employees house outside of our company, it is redirected there somehow. I am hoping this is done within our PBX which forwards the call outside.. but I'm not really not sure if it happens inside our PBX or at the provider level. In any case, how would I go about finding out if this is happening and what internal extension (if any) is assigned to this outside number?

in my manual I can see how to shut off forwarding, but it only applies to internal extensions so that doesn't help me much.

This can be done in many ways.

Call forwarding at the CO side. (Try *73 on the line to cancel any forwarding if this is a POTS line.

Line Redirect in the phone system (you will need to find the phone).

call forwarding External (you will need to find the phone)

Voice mail call forwarding

Do you have POTS lines or PRI?
