how do I manage my e2k server from my win2k pro box?

exchange 2k server up and running great. but I don't want to have to run down the hall every time I want to make a change. how can I manage the exchange features from my win2k pro box? I have the win2k admin tools on it so I can do all the active directory and other domain snap in functions, but I can't figure out how to add Exchange snapins. one book said to run the e2k server setup on the pro box and do a custom install and only install the admin tools, but when I select Custom install it errors out with an unknown error.

I was going to suggest what you already read and tried. You were trying to install it as Administrator, right? Just making sure...

I'd try scouring MSKB (

and even the Exchange 2000 site (

for tips and whitepapers.

I've scoured those sites like mad =) I am a local admin on the machine I'm trying, and I'm also a Domain, Enterprise, and Schema admin. and I also have full exchange admin rights as well.

i don't get it!!!!
