how do I make twm my startup window manager?

How do I make twm my startup window manager?
Red Hat 7.2

I have already tried to:

change the preffered value to twm in /etc/X11/xinit/XClients
change the .wm_style in the home dir (/root) (I can understand this does not work as you are not logged in yet at this stage..)

Can anyone help ?

Ok, problem solved.
I made some changes in my inittab and it works now...
added x:5:/usr/X11R6/bin/X instead of the previous line that
started an annoying login manager.
