How do I make my plugin for Mac?

I don't know where to start. If someone could give me an idea of what to read even, I would appreciate it.

I have created a plugin for Acrobat using MS C++. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Now I need to compile it for use on a Mac Leopard. I don't know where to start. Do I copy the source project to the Mac and use something to compile over there? Can I compile it on my Windows machine and get an acrobatPlugin file for the Mac?
