I am working on making an teaser for an upcoming event for a website that is in html. I want to develop the teaser in flash. My question is how do I make the background in my Flash component transparent? I've seen it done with some advertisments, but I'm not sure how to do it. Please help.

What do you mean by transparent? Transparent over other html stuff on the page?
If so be aware that this only works with IE and not with NS.

Oh I so not want to hear anything about this NS crap EVER AGAIN. I thought by using flash I'ld finally be freed from the eternal crappiness of NS. Guess again...

N3XuS Flash isn't the problem here, it's the use of Html.

Thanks Oldnewbie. I think this will take care of the problem. I also think I found a way around the NS problem too.

As always you are more than helpful.

Be interested to see what you can come up with for NS!

I'm glad there are others that hate the garbage that is Netscrap. It truly is the bane of any web developer.

AOL ain't that much better!
Maybe if we all used sniffers, and kept users from seeing anything if they're on Netscape or AOL (maybe re-direct to a IE download LOL), those browsers would die on their own!
Na! Guess I'm just dreamin'!

Well on every website I make I do a script detect and if the user is using NS I urge them to download IE. It's just ignorance on their part. If they knew how much better IE is in every respect, I'm sure they'd switch.

I fear AOL will be with fo a very long time. There isn't much we can do about that.
