How do I make a prepayment without sales tax on taxable item?

I have a purchase order set up with sales tax. I need to make a prepayment to the vendor against one line item without tax. How do I do it?

When we enter the prepayment invoice entry screen using MSO26g, the sales tax gets automatically calculated.
