How do I limit report output based on a date field?

I have a report where records should only be displayed if the DateRecd is blank.

I tried adding selection logic to the Control Source on the DateRecd field. It didn't work.

What am I doing wrong? How should I be doing this?

Thanks in advance

You need to build the logic into your query that selects the data for your report. In the query put IsNull in the criteria for the DateRecd field and you'll only get records where the DateRecd is blank.

That was the problem, Joe. I wasn't sure how/where to build the query. This is my first real attempt at reporting in Access. Logically, I know what I want to do but I need to figure out the technical steps to do it.

After submitting this, I searched a little farther back and found a similar question (How to have a report filtered for "today's" input only). There was a detailed description on how to build the report query.

Thanks for helping a newbie. *s*
