how do i learn php parsing

What type of parsing are you speaking of?
Writing your own little language in php? If so, I would not suggest PHP as the language to do so.
If you are trying to make a parser, try either Perl/C/C++.
Perl's regular expression engine is far beyond any other that I have seen.
Could you please be more specific in your question?
