How do I know who is accessing my folders in a LAN network

Hi!
Can anyone please tell me what's the best method to detect and log people who accessed my shared folders in a LAN network? It would really be cool to find out about the
people who accessed my stuff.
 
A log? You can see realtime using the 'Server' applet on the Control Panel of Windows
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
