How do I killl a terminal session

I tried using the V200 terminal from MAT to get into Mermail and it hung on me. Now when I got to my local console and try to get into Mermail I get a OVL406 because it thinks the MAT terminal is still on.

How can I kill the MAT session from the local console. I tried connecting back from MAT then disconnecting but it does not help.

You can probably disconnect the tty connected to the MAT, connect your console, then logout of the meridian mail.

Is this an Option 11? If so use Ctrl + ] that will put that TTY back to the switch side.
