hi.
I must apologise now, because I am a real newbie. Instillation of Red Hat 7.0 was fine, but now that I have it, I can't seem to install any software.
Netscape: I decided to download 6.1 off the net, un-tarred the file, executed the netscape download program, and chose the dir '/usr/local/netscape' (the default path)
however when downloading, the program said it was saving it to '/home/joe/netscape-installer/xpi'
When the download finishes files are in that dir (all .xpi extension)
but when I change to that directory in the terminal to run netscape 6.1 ('./netscape') it says it cannot find any file called that.
And my planned path ('usr/local/netscape') has nothing in it???
what is going on??? where are the files??? how do I launch the program???
Please, if anyone can help, or give me sum advice on how to generally install software, as well as thuis specific problem, I would be very grateful!!!!
all comments welcome!
