Hi everyone,

I've downloaded the MyODBC driver 3.51 and have tried to install it..

I then go to Microsoft ODBC Administrator, and try to add a DSN, and the MyODBC / MySQL driver is nowhere to be found on that list, NOR on the drivers tab.

What step am I missing.. ???? the documentation on this doesn't seem to suggest I'm missing a step. I've tried this on Windows 2000 and XP.

A more appropriate subject line would have been...

"MyODBC MySQL driver is not showing after install

I found the answer !

After installing the MySQL ODBC drivers on a Windows platform, no listing appears for the drivers under the Drivers tab of the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator.

Try using Regedit to view the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers

Select and delete the (DEFAULT) string, then restart the computer.

WARNING - WARNING - WARNING: Editing your Registry incorrectly can cause serious, system wide problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system to correct. It is advised that you back up your registry before modifying it.
