how do I install mod_jk?

I currently use Apache 1.3 connecting to Tomcat 4.1.18 on a Red Hat 7.2 box.

I'm using the old Warp (mod_webapp) connector to link Apache and Tomcat, but it seems to be causing problems with my DBCP JNDI connection pool resources.

I'm trying to figure out how to install the new mod_JK2 connector, but I can't find any current doc.

I have a new O'Reilly book, but the info in there is incomplete compared to what is available on the jakarta build site.

There are no binaries for Linux out there and from what I can tell, the source that's there doesn't have everything needed in order to build it with ANT.

Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated.
