how do i install language optional software package

I am trying to add gzip utility to my system. While running make i get an error message stating /usr/ucb/cc : language optional software package not installed. How do i fix this problem...thanks [sig][/sig]

what is the best way to install the c compiler when receiving the message /usr/ucb/cc: language optional software package not installed.

We use gcc downloaded from

http://www.sunfreeware.com

download, unzip, untar and use pkgadd to install.
