Hey guys I need help. Having a severe senior moment. I have an ACS 7.0. Ext 10, a Euro 34d, has a call assist 48 to be attached. I have the transformer plugged into the wall. The special key cable is plugged into the the the special white over/under splitter. It is plugged into the single pair slot. An 8 conductor cable is plugged from the bottom of the splitter to the AUX port on the call assist. Another 4, have tried 8, conductor cable is plugged from the LINE OUT on the call assist to the LINE on the Bottom of the telephone. All light work, I can program from the phone, but I have no dial tone, intercom or line. Where did mess up?

Thanks,

Wayne

The voice pair is still on the center pair of the 4-pair line cord. Check for DT right at the jack, then on the phone side of the T-adapter, on the end of the 4-pair line cord, then on the Out jack of the CA-48.

According to the PARTNER™ Installation, Programming, and Use document, the CA-48 has IN and OUT jacks. The D8W line cord goes from J1 on the adapter at the wall jack to the IN jack on the CA-48. Then you plug a line cord from your P34D system phone LINE jack into the OUT jack on the CA-48. The power unit uses a D8AC modular cord with blue modular plugs, and those go from J2 on the adapter to the "wall wart".

In the same Avaya document there is a note that says: if you unplug the system phone connected to the CA-48, you have to reset the autodialer. You do that by unplugging the cord @ the IN jack, count to five, and plug it back into the CA-48.

If you need more info, you can download and read the Partner™ documents from support.avaya.com. It covers all things PARTNER™...

Happy reading!

Thanks for the help. Got it hooked up correctly with all the parts. I have power to set and CA48, I can enter and do programmin, I can see when people are on the telephone, but I cannot make an intercom or outside call. No dialtone. I changed all the cables but the one from the transformer. Since I have power I think it is ok. Guss CA48 is bad. Any other thoughts.

Thanks,

Wayne

Is the splitter an after market type they had a batch of bad ones a few years back?

Did you check for dial tone on the White/Blue pair at the jack, using your butt-set?? And if you have that, did you work your way through the T-adapter, line cord, CA-48, and line cord to the Partner set? Do you have dial tone at the Control Unit, plugged directly into the Ext. 10 station port??
