I am using Windows XP. When my PC display goes into the screen saver, I am unable to go directly into the desktop. What happens is that when the screen saver is displayed and I move the mouse, the screen displays the log-on screen!!!

Question - What do I need to "set" in order to have the display go directly into the desktop, rather than the log on screen when I move the mouse after the screen saver is displayed???

Please help.

Right click on the desktop
Click Properties
click 'Screen Saver' tab.

There should be a checkbox for 'on resume, password protect'

Try removing the check from this box.

Right click on an empty area of your desktop, click on Properties->ScreenSaver and then uncheck the box that says:
Windows Display/ScreenSaver said:
On resume, Display Welcome Screen

O.k your way out, and the next time you come back from the screen saver it should come back to your desktop and not the logon screen.
