how do i get rid of virus that is in sytem memory tia

The easiest way is to remove the files it uses to start up and then reboot, so it won't be in memory. You can then run a virus checker over it.

If you have Windows 9x/Me/XP then you can use MSConfig, if not then get a copy of Mike Lin's startup control panel from and then use that to remove any dodgy items.

Remember to check the startup group (both local and global if NT/2K/XP), WIN.INI/SYSTEM.INI files as well as the registry.
