Hello Again,
When anyone calls out of the property, the recipient only sees the main number and the property name.
I have 3 2616 sets that the users want to have the internal Caller ID info display on any phone they call off site.
When I do ld 21 I get this:

LD 21
REQ: Prt
Type: CLID

intl

the Documentation can be daunting, but it seems like I have to create some form of lookup table for each extension?

thanx in advance!

Your carrier and the service that has been implemented with them is in play. Depending on your setup with the carrier the "customer" can be in control of certain parameters. In other instances the carrier has the info "fixed" based upon what was ordered.

There are 3 great posts/threads in the FAQ's pertaining to CLID
Release 5.0 and on you have a little more flexibility if the carrier allows.
LD 15 and LD 95 are your friend in this scenario.

TX!
my carrier sez I have a sizable chunk of DID numbers. Is there a way thru meridian to find out which ones are used or unused?
is it a CLS?

Thanx Again!

Use the FAQ's in Tek Tips - they contain the 3 the examples I was referring to.
Mikes cookbook is also an excellent resource.

Not sure how the DID's come into play unless each DID has there own individual CLID setup and you want to pass the same info on outgoing calls ? I suspect you should be able to reference the translations in LD 49 via your conversion tables.
If you have no idea what DID numbers you actually have then you will need to get your carrier to send you the billing info identifying the DID's and xref those numbers to the IDC table. The carrier could be sending 4, 7, 10 digits (whatever) down the pipe - all dependent upon your configuration.

Thanx Again.

I did not make myself clear and I aplolgize.
the DID's and CLID are 2 different issues.
I am trying to get an extension here to have a DID, which is why I am looking to identify unused ones.

There's nothing in the PBX that say these are your unused DID.

You have to know your DID range then use LD 20 LUDN command to list them... i.e. if my DID range is 2400-2499, then LD 20 REQ = PRT, TYPE = LUDN, DN = 24 ...this will list all numbers in the 24xx range. Alternatively, you can hit Enter key at DN and the system will list all available numbers.

Thank You all very much!

I will report back on progress once significance is achieved!

After multiple attempts at getting this to work, and thanx again for all assistance I received here, I have found the solution:

The carrier has to do it. The PBX has no control over caller ID.
AND thanx to all those spoofers out there, its very specific criteria.

oh well, at least I got some chops on the ol' wyse TTY!

Thanx Again!
