No merlin experience. Im a nortel guy who is veering towards IP office.

Have a customer with a merlin system.

How do i get into system programming?

You either need Winspm software and a laptop or an MLX20L telephone that is set-up as the programming extension.

if i have the telephone how do i go about logging in ?

Press the Menu Button on the phone. If one of the prompts in the display is System Programming you can choose that and get into system programming (after pressing either "exit or start" depending upon if it's a Legend or a Magix). Just a warning, it's not the most intuitive programming.

Wouldn't your programming manual tell you how to enter programming mode?

Avaya has many Merlin system documents posted for anyone to download in PDF format. Determine which Merlin system you have (including the revision).....go to Avaya's website.....click on Support->Documentation.....and so on.
