Anyone have any ideas on how I can take a number and send it to a menu without the Callpilot system telling me the number is not in the system. I have learned it is possible to set up each individual extension as an SDN but if I did this I would have to program over 500 SDN's into callpilot by hand, since this is a school district with many classroom phones that need to be set up to go to a menu

Unfortunately that is all you can do. If however each application, menu, is the same you can assign an unlimited amount of SDN's to the same application. This is alot of SDN entries and I'm not sure if callpilot has a limit on SDN's but i don't think so. This should resolve building multiple applications, menus.

that's a bad one, if the district is networked with pri's you can build an idc table that changes the dial number to the menu id.. that might mean creating some soft dn's to forward but numbers forwarded to that dn would be trapped by the idc and the original dialed number would be blown away sending the idc output dn to the mail.. another trick i have used where i had 100's of users, a lot of them in outbuildings using lineside t1 and oxp stations was to forward to the 7 digit number for the menu service, even in the same building if you forward to 9 xxx xxxx the dialed number will be the menu service and not the orig dialed exten... both ways will take a litte tweaking to get right but it's do-able

We tried both of those options but neither one worked. With the first one it was still seeing the original DN and with the second one we just get ringing and nothing picking up :(
