Ok... my son installed winroute on my machine. I being annoyed by it uninstalled it. Later on i did some research on it..... and installed it for me to use.

The problem: my son doesnt rember the password he set, and it wasn't fully uninstalled... because it kept its admin password settings somewhere in registry or an ini file ..... somewhere.

I am interested in this software... any info on how to FULLY remove it and reset this admin password would be greatly appreciated.

Start by opening the system registry. under the HKEY_Local_Machine and HKEY_Current_User keys go to .\Software and there will be a key called either "Winroute" or "Kerio". delete this key. this will reset ALL winroute information back to nothing. Winroute will function without these keys present, it will simply reset all information. **WARNING** this iwll erase ALL information. ALL custom firewall entries, port mappings, groups, and all other information will be reset. this is only recommended in combination with an uninstall/reinstall.
Also under HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Kerio (or Winroute)\Winroute\Users\* these are the user accounts. here you can delete a user password, but NOT create one. the paswords are stored in an encrypted key and cannot be generated manually.
